Montessori allows children to become independent, confident and self sufficient in an environment that provides stimulation for all the senses.   The materials encourage children to work together and develop socially, intellectually and emotionally.

The objective of Montessori is to take control of a child's natural senses and ability to learn.   The child develops his/her ability through exploration, touch and learning without fear. The child's self-esteem and self-confidence are increased along with the learning experience.

The curriculum is split into 5 modules:

-Practical Life: Develops hand-eye co-ordination using every day materials and exercises.

-Sensorial: Works on the basis that children learn using their senses so by classifying and identifying them, this will aid their progress.

-Maths: Using concrete materials the children adapt to mathematical concepts

-Language: Using both concrete and abstract materials the children will develop reading and writing skills naturally.

-Culture: Looks at providing the children with an insight into the world around them. Topics covered are geography, history, biology, botany, zoology, art and music.
